To the Honourable the Legislature of the State of Wisconsin

The undersigned residents of the State of Wisconsin would respectfully represent, that in their belief, the acts of the Legislature of 1861 creating the office of county supervisors and of county school superintendents are unwise and impolitic creating an additional expense which we are poorly prepared to bear, feeling assured as we do that we shall receive no additional benefit therefrom but on the contrary a disadvantage, as we believe it to be for our interest and convenience to have a member of the county board also a school superintendent in each town to represent and look after our interest.

For these, among other reasons we would petition you Honourable body to repeal said acts and as in duty bound we will ever pray.
