To the Hon. the Council & House of Representatives of the Territory of Wisconsin;
We the undersigned, citizens of the county of Walworth would respectfully represent to your honorable body that we regard the present system of county government in this territory to be inconsistent with the best interests of the people. We therefor pray your honorable body that the office of county commissioner may be abolished, & that the organized towns in this territory be authorized to elect their own offices & transact their own town affairs, & that all taxes for county purposes be levied by a board of supervisors in which each town shall be represented.
