This course provides an overview of black politics at the city, county and
state levels. It is concerned wtih (1) measures of black political power,
(2) self-interest issues, (3) coalitions for mutual interest, and (4)
critical analysis of methods which purport to study black politics at the
city and state level.

in the Library. A term paper or project is required. Weekly outside reading
from newspapers or other periodicals is required. Discussion is mandatory.
