Dear Ald. Vel Phillips:

My daughter, Mrs. Rose Ann Braun of 611 Mantigue Ave S. Milwaukee, Wis. called me last week, asking me to send you a poem honoring the Rev. Martin Luther King Jr. which I had written. I feel a little uneasy about sending it, as so many people with more & better education than I have had, can write one whose words mean more than I can write about. I had to quit school at age 15, and help support my family and self. but I do want you to read it, so I'm sending it along with the periods and commas in the wrong places.
