so I dare say I shall have something to
contribute to your Milwaukee Library. I also
pick up rare botanical books by purchase
when they fall in my way. I bought a
copy of Michaux's Flora Borealis Amer. (2 vols, 8[illegible] 51 plates) the other
day - which is now on hand, I gladly offer it
to you. You can keep it yourself (& had better)
or offer it to your library, just as you please,
I am glad to have the opportunity of offering it.
I would have had some pamphlets also but
I sent off a lot of pamphlets not long ago
shall probably find something to add to the
parcel, which I shall direct to you & send
this week to the charge of our friend [Garry?]
at New York (Thomson [Heary?] 51 Broad St)
where you can easily direct any Milwaukie
friend to call for it.

Thank you kindly for your parcel to [illegible].
also for your welcome offer to send more live
plants this autumn. I shall probably
invite you on the print this summer, in [reproduce?]
to those plants most wanted alive for my [illegible]
work the next season.

A while ago Prof. Guecanni of Munich
proposed to send me several sets of a pretty
nice collection of Bavarian plants to exchange off
for him with American botanists. When they
come, if they are nice & good as I doubt not
they will be - for he always sends good specimens
I shall send you a [illegible] if you like, so
keep them in mind, and as occasion serves
lay aside Milwaukie plants for him.

I remain, very cordially Yours
[illegible]
