Subulate, polished, with obsolete spiral lines, distinctly visible only on the body whorl; a spiral line margins the suture at the base of each volution, causing the suture to appear profound; this line is continued on the middle of the body whorl. - Differs from B. terebellata in the deeply impressed suture & smaller umbilicus
