Expands .00291 in linear dimensions for each degree of Fahr.

Contracts the same upon cooling 1 degree.

A sheet of ice i mile wide or long, would contract (calculation)...feet or about 1 7/8 inches by the loss of each degree of temperature

Ice expands about twice as much as lead.

This law of course is only applicable below a temp. of 32 deg.-above that ice melts.
