Of the 149 species of grass eleven are found in Ohio, and not in either
of the other States or Territories adjoining Wisconsin. They are:

Alopecurus geniculatus, Linn. 8
Sporobolus asper, Sullivant 16
Glyceria pallida, Trin. 59
Festuca elatior, Linn. 80
Festuca pratensis, Huds. 81
Paspalum fluitans, Kunth. 119
Panicum filiforme, Linn. 122
Setaria verticillata, Beauv. 137
Andropogon Virginicus, Linn. 146
Andropogon macrorurus, Mich. 143

Five Specimens have only been detected in Illinios [Illinois], to wit:

Lepturus paniculatus, Nutt. No. 6
Aristida oligantha, Mx. 42
Leptochloa fascicularis, Gray 50
Holcus lanatus, Linn. 115
Tripsacum dactyloides, Linn. 143

Seven species brought from the regions about Lake Superior, appear
to be peculiar to the shores of that great lake -- they are:

Phleum alpinum, Linn. No. 11
Cinna pendula, Trin. 22
Calamagrostis longifolia, Hook 33
Calamagrostis arenaria, Trin. 33
Poa alpina, Linn. 68
Aiva flexuosa, Linn. 106
Trisetum molle, Kunth. 107

These plants have mostly an alpine or sub-alpine character.

The four following species have only been observed in Wisconsin:

Sporobolus junceus, Kunth. No. 13
Poa debilis, Torr. 65
Panicum xanthophysum, Gray 129
Panicum longisetum, Torr. 133
