Eriophorum Virginicum Linnaeus, p. 16739. Eriophorum Virginicum Linnaeus Leaves flat very long narrowly linear; spikes clustered erect, nearly sessile, involucre 2 to 3 leaved; bristles rusty colored only thrice the length of the scale;-forming dense cotton like heads; stamen one. Culm 2 to 4 feet high, rigid, nearly terete below, obtusely triangular above. Flowers in May. Cranberry marshes &c througout Wisconsin. Found also in Ohio, Michigan, and about Lake Superior.
