Chronology of the Chicago Fire.
9 1/2 to 10 pm Sunday Oct 8th
9.30 { a strong wind, almost a gale blowing when the fire begin Mrs, O' Lary's Barn in which were four cows all perished - on Dekoven st. [bet.?] Clinton & Jefferson
9.45- Alarm sounded, firmen came out
10 [to 11 [crossed out] pm 8th Only two blocks yet burned.
Wind at 9 & 11 pm 16 to 20 miles an hour as observed by Government reporters. S. S. W.
11 1/2 By this time fire had Extended over 8 blocks [11 to 12 pm 8th[crossed out]
12 midnight - The fire crossed the river near Jackson St. Gas works exploded soon after
12 Crossed also at same time near Taylor St. 12 " Adams street bridge burned. 12 " Wind S. S. W. 30 miles an hour (Mackintosh 12 " The fire crossed the river near Taylor St.

From Farwell Hall the flame darts over an entire block, community with the dome of the court house," almost immediately it was a [man?] of [flame [crossed out] fire," in ten minutes the entire structure [illegible] the appearance of a mamoth furnace
1h. 53m. am 9th " The dome of the court house was seen to sway in the wind," it rocked to & fro for a few moments & fell.
