The weather continues the same as yesterday being of that description which is rather peculiar to March than April - Cold, windy, with broken clouds passing rapidly by discharging now and then slight showers of rain, between which showers we will perhaps have a short interval of sunshine.

work to attend to at the bridge and in the afternoon I went to the woods, as there was no work on the canal in search of flowers, found one, and while I was there a shower of rain commenced suddenly, and before I could get home I was quite wet. The river has commenced falling.

This morning I went up to Louisville and went a little way up Beargrass Creek for plants. In the afternoon I worked a little on the canal. The weather has moderated...
