A rainy day, not withstanding which I done some work at the Bridge. After this I wrote a letter to Father, and on the same sheet an answer to Darius' received yesterday. Commenced drawing a plan of the Lock & Bridge for Mr. Kelly.

This morning I done some work at the bridge and then a little at the locks. At noon I copied the reports estimates &c. which Mr. Henry took to Louisville leaving nothing for me to do on the canal; so I finished the plan of the locks and then went over to Rock Island to get some shells for Mr. White.
