On the W. of the cloister were two apartments, one of them
a handsomely built arched chamber with
a smaller room at the rear; in the S. of the court
were 2 narrow rooms of unequal length;
in the E. are 2 small square rooms opening into
a finely built square chamber, with a broad
arch, opening upon another courtyard to the S.E.
of the cloister. At the N., or rear of this large apartment,
and between it and the apse of the church was the
chief entrance to the cloister and hence, to the church.
A broad doorway opens into a large vestibule which
opens into the end of the colonnade by an arch.
The only other direct access to the cloister was to be had
through the small doors of the narrow chamber at the W.

South of the cloister buildings and ajoining them, a
great complex of buildings and open courts stretches
all of the way to the Klaudianos Church, and extends
well to the East, making a great block over
100m. long and about 70m wide (E. S.W.) Some of these
buildings were undoubtably connected with the 2 churches.
