to go & have tea with Marion who said Phyllis
was giving up her house on Boswell - $35
a month! Alas Elsie Sankey (who bought my piano)
had just rented it the day before. Marion
took me in her new Chev. to see 2 apartments,
all too dear & left me at your mothers.
She had just come in from the office, & does
not look very much different at all! I
know she is weaker because she has just
recovered from a horrible attack of
erysipelas which Harold & Harry nipped in the
bud. She thinks the treatment for it is helping
the arthritis! I hope so. Then at 6.15 I telephoned
the Hotel to see if Eleanor & brought back the
kids safely & heard a man's voice answer
my room telephone! It was Barry! So I
told him to come up & have dinner at
Brenda's gray [gables]. Your mother wouldn't
go out again so we went off. Brenda came
in as we finished & insisted upon going
upstairs & bringing Norman Macrae down
to see me. He is just the same dear,
& invited me out on the Strathcona this
