[p.376] December 26 1969 Fri.St. Thomas, lovely walk up hill -glorious flowers, palms, lizards. Took taxi to Magens Bay - swam all afternoon. Lovely day.

1970 Sat. Baked another mince pie. All walked to Q and P. Boys shovelled snow. Saw TV. " Treasure of Siena Madre".

1971 Sun. Saw Bloor street church children on TV. Excellent.To [Sunday School}. Read to Mary. Walk in park. Anne and I to badminton. Saw "Elizabet R."

[p.377] December 27 1969 Sat. At sea, Ian finished papers. Greek lesson, others swam. Warm and sunny. Delightful day.

1970 Sun. Snowing hard. Bay made pancakes. Anne and Ian to badminton. Kept children.

1971 Mon. Mended clothes and played with Mary. Played Anagrams sheet storm. Saw " Far from Madding Crowd on TV.

[p.378] December 28 1969 Sun. Port of Spain, Trinidad. Walked to Botanical garden. Man sang Colypss to us. Drive around town. To zoo. Wildley assorted architecture.

1970 Mon. Bright and cold. Packed and came here after lunch. Anne andBay off to Swastika, Ian called Black, Hugh read comic books, Mary coloured and I opened mail.

1971 Tues. Damp and mild. Took bus at 10:20. Opened mail, wrote letters and shoped. Called Lorrain and Wendy G.

[p.379] December 29 1969 Mon. Bridgetown, Barbados, walked around, rain, we sheltered in big church. [Best?] snow at beach. Pelican village - handicrafts.

1970 Tues. Bright and very cold. Hugh, Mary and I to bank and store. They to Science Centre. Wrote cards. Read after dinner.

1971 Wed. Baked date squares. Bank and shopped. Daggs all arrived. All to see " Modern Times" Chaplin and supper on Eglinton. Children slept here.

[p.380] December 30 1969 Tues. Fort - de - France, Martiniqu statue of Josephine in park, wonderful taxi drive to St. Pierre and Mt. Pelee. Wonderful trees and flowers and fishing villigages.

1970 Wed. Anne and Bay back from Swastika.They all to Science centre, baked cookies. To Hugh's for reunion - Wendy, Mary and John, splendid time.

1971 Thu. All Dags here for breakfast and they to museum. Heavy snow. Daggs left here for home.
