[p.41] January 29 1949 Sat. Ann skiing at summit all day. Very cold. Sewed and worked on notes for novel.

1950 Sun. To Communion at church. Mary Unson moved back home. Mild and wet. Heard symphony.

1951 Mon. Mary and I worked. Wrote to Ed. Mary and I to University library and to University stores for floor vax and soap.

1952 Tues. Downtown to shop. Very cold. Nina here to work, Typed on script.

1953 Thurs. Took baby to store. Cool but clear.Drove with Bruce to Dr. Beecher's, dinner at Greek place, Cisco's - and to movie - O-Henry pices " Full House" Lovely evening.

[p.42] January 30 1949 I to church. Anne skiing at summit. Tigger ate 2 pork chops. Joe Potts here for dinner.

1950 Washed. Very cold. To stores and bank. Letter from Donald. Anne to dinner at Umson's.

1951 Tues. Worked on script. Mary and I to see Dr. Lawson at church. Mary to movies.

1952 Very cold. Hugh came home for lunch. Typed.

1953 Fri. Mary went downtown. I kept baby and we had a lovely time. Raining hard. Mary cooked spareribs. Reading Faulkner's " Intruder in the Dust."

[p.43] January 31 1949 Mon. Washer being repaired so couldn't wash. Very cold. Harold came back from Timmins.

1950 Tues. To Mass, goggio's for Executive meeting. Snowing hard. Letter from Mary.

1951 Wed. Snowing. Letter from Donald. Mary and I downtown. Ordered invitations engraved etc.

1952 Thu. Had my hair done and shopped. Milder and melting.

1953 Sat I went downtown. All to dinner at Treffrey's - Talked to Louisa, Charlie and Mary Parson, very nice time. Wrote letters.

[p.44] February 1 1949 Downtown and got good Mary dress. Jo came in and we worked on Quarterterly. Baked lemon pie. Washer returned.

1950 To [Young Women] for publicity meeting. To church and got wool. Cold.

1951 Had my hair done and shopped. To E. Long's Apartment to go over scripts. Deep snow.

1952 To Mrs. Smith's to write invitations for tea for new staff. Eleanor Mac [Gillincoy] here for tea.

1953 Sun. Bruce took us for long drive to Marpole and to Lynn Volley Canyons and suspension bridge. To dinner with Keiby's in new Panabode at Capilano Highlands. Lovely view.

[p.45] February 2 1949 Wed. Washed, worked on notes and sewed. To Ruth Tait's for club, read " Dark Lady of the Sonnets", and I spoke on encouraging arts.

1950 Thu. To optician and got my new bifocals. Sewed on my dressing gown.

1951 Fri. Mary and I shopped and to library. Heavy snow. Wrote to Donald. Rewrote script " Mary Carpenter"

1952 Sat. Baked pumpkin pies. To lunch at Diana Sweets with W. H. Clark, Robertson and Boggs. Hugh and Anne out for dinner. Mild.

1953 Mon. Mary and I to lunch at Phyllis's. Very nice. I went on to tea with Lucy and lef Mc Killop. Max Cameron came to see me in evening. Hemmed yellow curtains.
