[p.31] January 19 1949 Wed. Typed report for [committee] on culture. Made blousette for Anne. Windy and dull. Letter from Donald.

1950 Thu. Assisted at Faculty Wives tea at Women's Union. Not many there. Rain and sleet.

1951 Fri. Faculty Wives' tea at Women's Union. Very nice. To our club at Vera's and hemmed diapers. Baked cookies.

1952 Sat. Baked cookies. Mild and raining. Heard " Salome" and Gianni Schichi.

1953 Mary to shop. I wrote letters. Took Boby to store. Very mild, nice day. Wrote letters and knitted.

[p.32] January 20 1949 Thu. Went downtown shopping for Anne's birthday. Hugh and I had tea. Harold and Mary out for dinner and evening.

1950 Shopped and to library. Cut out aprons and blouse for Anne.

1951 Fixed up house, got flowers etc. Tea for all department, Dawson's gusts of honor 50-60 here. Secretaries sent me corsax. very nice.

1952 Wrote letters. Anne and I to church in evening. Reading [Gerrard's] "guide"

1953 Tues. Mary and I to lunch with Von Sabistan at Terminal City Club. Bruce took and me to dinner " Monty's Spare Ribs." Wonderful dinner. Drive afterward.

[p.33] January 21 1949 Fri. Sudden snow storm. To University library and then to Committee on Culture. Book review given. Harold out for dinner.

1950 Sat. Poured at tea at [Jeannette's.] Snow and rain. Brown's drove us home. Girls and Hugh out.

1951 Sun. Much colder. Harold and I to Mc Dougalls for tea. Gladys C. there.Hugh went back to Mc [Master]

1952 Mon. Anne washed. I polished silver. Quarterly [committee] met here. Much colder. Strike still on.

1953 Wed. Had my hair done. Walked with Mary and Boby. Wrote letters. Mary and I baked cookies. Bruce late making calls.

[p.34] January 22 1949 Baked cookies and lemon pie. Heard "Traviata." Harold away all day.

1950 Sun. Snow and rain, very wet and dull. Read and heard symphony. Girls out.

1951 Mon. Mary and I washed. Sewed and worked on scripts.

1952 Snowing and icy. With Mrs. Tovell to Heliconian club lunch, at head table, speaking on ballet. Harold and Hugh took 2 1/2 hrs. driving home.

1953 Thu. Wrote letters, took baby for a walk. With Nellie Chant to C.J.J.A. meeting at Mrs. Plant's. Rain. Mary and I to neighbor's to see television

[p.35] January 23 1949 Sun. Harold out at meetings. Corey here for tea and George Britnell in evening.

1950 Mon. Washed. Arthur Steven here about illustrating book. Harold and I to concert at Massey Hall - duo piano, Luboshutz and Nemenof - splendid

1951 Tues. To Luella's about class for foreign students, then downtown. Mary had bridge party here. Little snow.

1952 Wed. Cars started running. Very cold and icy. Harold and I to symphony with Lois Thomas. Very good.

1953 Fri. Rain all day. Finished suit for little Bruce. Went to store and library. Played with little Bruce.
