[p.16] January 4 1949 Tues. [Harold] in bed with cold. I downtown shopping. Cut out house dress. Wrote letters. Gladys Cochrane here in evening.

1950 Wed. Very mild. Anne to movies. To University Library.

1951 Went to CBC and went over broadcast with C. Long. To church for wool, to bank and post office.

1952 Fri. In bed with bad cold and cough. Anne to Collingwood to ski. Snowing.

1953 Sun and snow, beautiful day. Read and looked out window. Got out at Chapleau and white River. Cold. Saw lights of Marathon.

[p.17] January 5 1949 Wed. Made red plaid dress. Mrs. warden and Frances from Colgary came for dinner. Mild and raining.

1950 Thu. [Young Women's Christian Association] quarterly meeting at 2. Very mild. Reading " seven story mountain." Letter from [Donal.]

1951 Fri. Mary and I downtown. She got wool dress, tangerine, and I a hat. Colder. Girls and I to library. Typed broadcast.

1952 Sat. Wrote letters and read. Hugh shopped and cooked meals. Harold to dinner at Dr. Tyrrell's.

1953 Mon. 20 below zero. Walked in station at Winnipeg. Brandon and Broudview. Read and wrote letters. Very cold.

[p.18] January 6 1949 Thur. Made dress for Ann's birthday. Anne bowling at church. She and Hugh skated. I to [Jaffary's] to work on report for [Committee] on Culture.

1950 To Mrs. Goggio's to Executive meeting. Ann's square dance - 16 girls. to Luella's club exams party - wore wimples. Home at 1:30 , snow at last.

1951 Sat. Baked cake and custards. Snowing at last. Mary and I heard " Don Giovannie" on radio.

1952 Sun. Hugh got dinner - French fries and biscuits. Ann got back from Collingwood. I got up first time.

1953 Tues. Wild blizzard at Calgary. Cold. Saw [mountains] thru snow from Stephen to golden and kicking House Canyon. Deep snow at Revelstoke

[p.19] January 7 1949 Fri. To bank, met Anne at library and we shopped. Damp and melting. Round Robin came.

1950 Sat. Anne to summit, skied all day. Harold at meetings, read and wrote lwtters. Darned socks and heard "Lohengrin."

1951 Sun. Anne off to Collingwood early. I to church. Wrote letters. Snowing. Mary out.

1952 Mon. Anne washed. All walked to University. Letters from Donald and Mary. Got car fixed. Wrote letters and typed.

1953 Wed. Train late, Mary, Bruce and Brucie met me. Snow on ground. Talked and talked, Brucie very big and such a darling.

[p.20] January 8 1949 Sat. Baked gingerbread. Bad cold on chest. Sewed and heard " Marriage of Figaro" on radio. Hugh and Anne at dance at church.

1950 Dr. Lawson preached first time, church very crowded. Anne at summit all day. Bill Dadson came in.

1951 Mon. Mary washed. I worked on broadcast. Anne's skiing pictures in paper. Cold.

1952 Tues. Nina came and worked. Worked on a broadcast. Cold. My first " Atlantic" came.

1953 Thur. Mary washed. We both played with baby. Snowing hard. Mary Bruce and I to see Phyllis and Andy. I wrote letters. Snow melted.
