Tues. 1939 Went for a walk with Mrs. Logan & went there for tea. H & I went to coffee party at Gardiners [?rchid.)?] & on to Commerce Club dance at R.Y.
Wed. 19 up all day. Wrote & mended. 12 below zero. Started girls' bedspreads.
Fri. 19 Went down shopping. D. took Hugh to art gallery. Raining. Harold out.
Sat. 19 Hugh on cub hike. Mary skiing. Heard "Lohengrin" on radio.
Sun. 19 Girls & I to church. H. & I to Jeffereys for tea. Heard symphony.

JANUARY 18
Wed. 19 Darned & mended. Played with Anne; all played flinch.
19 Went out to library & shopped. Very cold. Mended & wrote letters.
19 Cold. Washed Mary's hair & mine. Took Hugh to get new glasses. Went to Enid's tea. Sam came for visit
19 Anne to church. Heard Symphony. I took a nap. Mild & melting.
19 Snowing hard. Washed. Went down shopping Terrible crowds.

Thu 19 Went to lunch at Luella's, Freda & Alice there. Cold. Harold out all evening.
Fri. +19 Mary went to symphony I went to hear Clark lecture at dept. Very cold.
Sun. 19 girls & I to church. all men took a walk. H & I to MacInnis's for tea & to Duff's for supper. Lovely.
Mon. 19 Took A's doll to doll hospital. Mild & raining. Typed hard.
19 Mended & washed my hair. Very cold. To club at Dulcie's - menus & recipes.

19 hemmed new sheets. Went shopping & to library. Very cold.
19 Wrote & knitted. Girls to music as usual. H. came home early. Heard "Orpheus & Eurydice" on radio.
19 Sam left. Plumber put new coil in furnace. Dr. Sharpe came - Anne has German measles. Looked after her all day.
19 Had my hair cut & curled. Typed. Mild.
19 Went to Loblaw's. very cold indeed. Mended & practiced.

Sat. 19 Baked all morning. H. & I went to Althouse's tea at U.W.C. Very nice time. Mrs. Michell called up.
Sun. 19 Snowing. H. & I went to tea at Taylor's. Reading 'Christ in Concrete" for club.
19 Tues. Played with Anne. Assisted at C.W.P.C. tea. Dr. Maresch on Viennese art.
19 Took Beryl P, Landon, Luella & Mrs. Wright to lunch at Round Room. Lecture on "Shock;" Luella came here after.
19 Thurs. Had hair waved. Shopped. H. left for Halifax. Below zero, as all week.
