No. 14 general yesterday while [getting] a [pilot] [out] of a machine that [Frotzy][....] [...] [Dron] [was] shelled badly [and] while carring him away a shell landed near + got me in [leg]. Killed one of [Bearers] + [flew] us all over the place - got pilot to [safty.]
Col [Mc Griffin] [met] me down at [...] in[shetchir?].
[no] [bones] [broken]-
[Weill] [at once?] to No I CCCS at Au bigny where [I met] all the [old] crowd.
Lt. Col. Ron [Simpson] gave me [6] little [gas] + sliced [open] my leg - [....] [getting] away on Train about 11 p.m. arriving here at 9:30 am today. [hot] in sky [line] of Vinry Ridje just north of Thelus.
