Barlin. 8 P.M.

Beautiful day. Moved off at 12.15 arriving at 2.30 P.M. via Bruay. Taking over a D.R.S. Situated just on border of Barlin & Hersin. The small towns through here are inhabited by coal miners & great long rows of brick cottages form the villages. Bruay has many mines & there is one near here. Good billet. Pretty country. No 8 M.A.C. billetted between here & Bruay.

About 10 k from Bethune. This Front here is quiet so reports say.
