Nov. 4. 1918.

My Dear Austie

Received your letter last week and I was very glad to hear from you. I have not got the Flu and have been very well. I went on sick parade one day and got a cold fixed up. Lots of people are kicking the bucket over here. One of our sergeants died yesterday and I think two of the cadets have died since. The lady who runs the N.A.C.B. Canteen died last night and there is talk of closing down the school for a week or ten days.

We have been having such terrible weather there is no wonder people get the Flu and one thing another. It has rained nearly every day for the last two months. I am very glad I have a good Trench coat. I have not seen anything of the parcel containing the leather vest, but I suppose it will be along some of this days. I will be on the look out for it, the mail service is very good here

in Parkhurst. and in the Camp.

I received a parcel the other day from the Lady Grey Chapter I.O.D.E. at Fort William. I thought they would have forgotten all about me. although I had some very kind friends up there.

I was over at Sandown Saturday and I am sorry I didn't go over early. It is very pretty. a very fine beach and altogether very pretty. It is about 7 miles from here. The slow train kind of spoilt the trip. It took an hour to come home and the trains shake you about so I began to feel sea sick.

I am sitting in the club with a hot cup of coffee infront of me and it is raining outside for all its worth. I wouldn't live here for any thing.

Ellis the [unclear] Canadian Chap here has gone into the hospital with scavies (itch) but I dont think they know what is the matter with him.

By the way tell Fanny and Stan to be careful of my address or I dont get my mail til after it's been hanging

I see by the papers today that Austria has signed the Armistice and that leaves Germany alone. So it wont be long now.

Well Aut write when you get [unclear].

With best Love to all

Brother Harry

P.S. This evening we are getting seven days leave so I think I will wander up to London. I will stay at 34 Bedford Place while in London. I hope Dad doesn't mind me asking him for money but you certainly cant live on 1/6 or 35 cents per day. I certainly am very careful of my money.
