My dear Fan: -

I have two letters of yours here which I have received lately. There has been very little mail in and so I have been very glad to get them. There was a Canadian mail in to-night and I have received 6 letters. One from you and Aut and one from Father and Madeline Lee. Also one from Harry.

You people seem to be having a very funny winter over there. The reason is because we are getting all the cold weather over here. It has been very cold for some time and everything has been frozen up.

I am very glad to know that Darce and Helen have been down visiting you because it is a good idea to get away from home. It makes me more broad-minded. Then Helen and Sus. need change

so that they won't get too peeved looking. You know that way that they get into.

I did not finish this letter last night because I did not have a chance. Today I have been lucky again with the letters. Had one from father and Sus and Darce. And a five letter from Isabel and also a letter from Fitzpatrick. He is

a friend I used to have at the signalling school. His father is a minister at Hamilton. He was wounded at Amiens and landed in Hospital at Manchester. I asked a little friend of mine to call on him and so he was quite glad and has made a good many friends through her. In fact he is engaged to a girl up there!

I certainly had to laugh at Darcy's letter, he says such very natural things and

yet they seem so funny. I hope he keeps at school. Will write him a letter. He spelt quite a few very simple words wrong. I won't say anything about it because he would not like me to but he should be corrected. I think if we had more letters to write when we were young there would not be so many poor letter writers. Me included. Father seems to be quite happy and business seems to be quite good. I hope that he keeps well. Jim should make out pretty well there.
