France Tuesday night November [8] / 18 My dear Fran: Just a line to say that I am feeling o.k. and everythinh is going on fine. Was coming up from the rest camp the other day and arrived in a town where we were to be billeted for the night. I saw a fellow who I knew was in [Reep] [batlling] [solaeted] Reg. I had dinner with him and then stayed and slept with him and had breakfast the morning.

[He] certainly had a fine billed. It was a town which had recently been captured. I saw a couple of the officers in his [battling] today [crossed over] and [crossed over] in this city so he must be near here now. I had a very good time at the rest camp. It is a very nice place down there on the coast and near a [couple] of large places. Have not recieved any mail from you people in Toronto lately. Recieved about ten letters today. A couple from home and the rest from blightly. I had five from Isabel and she is Toronto. I told her to go out to see you because

I guess she has not many friends in Toronto. I met Val. Kebough Keough the other day. [Last] remember this fellow who used to be around town. He is a sergeant in the 13th [highlavelers] and has the D.C.M. Also saw Fred Garlick who is a sergeant and has the D.C.M. was talking to Joe [Widletli] to-day.
