On Active Service Y.M.C.A WITH THE BRITISH EXPEDITIONARY FORCE
Sunday Evening May 5/18
My dear Father -
Well here it is Sunday again, the time certainly seems to fly over here. I had several letters from home this week, they had been to the battalion and were forwarded on to me. My mail will reach me if you send it on to the battn. I know the corporal of the mail personally and he will see that it is sent on.
I expect to see Reg again in the next few days and

he said that he was trying to get me transfered into his battery.
I received the cable about mother on Friday. You see it had been wandering around and so that is why Reg rec. his first. I cannot make any sense out of the date, but will be very glad when I get some mail.
In the letters from the girls Mother seemed to be pretty bad and rather worn out. I suppose that she just tried to keep up.

till it was too much for her. I must have missed a lot of letters, sunk or something or other.
There was a fine church parade this morning in a large concert hall near here. The bishop of this groupe of troops preached the sermon and he certainly preached a pretty fine sermon. The service was C of E. and rather high church.

I wish you would send me on some Auto-Strop razor blades as those I have are nearly all gone. I still have the one you sent me a little over a year ago, the box is getting rather dilapidated though.
I had a letter from the bank in London, to fill in a card with my new address. You can forward on about $25. to my credit and then that will do.
Well Father there is not very much news. Am feeling O.K. and hope you are all fine. Be careful and don't do too much in the garden. Best love to all. and will be writing during the week. Your loving son. Ted.
