Bramshott Camp Saturday Evening 5/18

My dear Aut.

I received letters from you today. (Two.) Also from Frannie, Stan and Louise. Also about twelve or fourteen from Home. You can imagine how glad I was. No letters for some time as they were all held up on account of the parcels.

Aut it was awfully good of you to send me that ten dollars for the coat. I spent it when I was on pass because I hadn't heard that it was for that. I now see why they put "[James Austin?]" on the [lable?]. I am going to save up so will be able to by the coat.

Wasn't it fine the way

everything has been going on in Canada. Gov. elected, Victory loan such a success, The people over here are certainly proud of Canadians. The way they can fight and then the people at home being so loyal. I would like to get the Pro-Germans and Pro-German Frenchmen in a big field and turn on a Machine Guns.

Toronto has certainly done good. The Toronto boys are telling everybody else to go and take a back-seat. What do you think of Verne Buck. I agree with Bob that they are a bunch of (well I guess I won't say it.)

The women in Ingersoll have been doing the [unclear]. I wonder if after all Sus's hard work they won.

I'll bet anything that Ingersoll went Liberal. If they did we will be pretty proud wont we. "Yes."

I suppose Harry will be over here soon. Say try and get Father to get busy and get Jim in the Flying Corps or a comm in something.

I had the greatest time when I was on pass. Manchester is a fine place. I wish you could see the Hotel I stayed at in Knutsford. The oldest and quaintest place I ever saw. You should see the old furniture.

I saw "A Kiss for Cinderella" at the Queen's in London. J.M. Barrie. It was grand, you may get a chance to see it in Canada.

I will get the shoes for Reg if you send me the money but I believe he wanted you to get some ones over there. I am going to the ranges Monday for ten days. I wear the boots you sent me all the time at the ranges. Wear three pairs of socks.

Isn't it fine for [Tots?] to have the new baby. I certainly will look forward to see it. They are so cute. Little [unclear] & Harry must be pretty fine from all accounts.

Well Aut thanks very much for the money for the coat it is certainly very good of you and Bob. You people over there are certainly good to me. I won't forget it. I will write Fran and Stan next week.

Best love to All Your loving Bro Ted.
