Lady Seftons Soap
1 lb of soft soap 2 oz of Spermacity
4 drahms of Camphor 2 spoonfuls
of Oil of Almonds 1 spoonfull of Wt
sand & 2 oz of Brandy melt the Camphor
& Spermacity in the oil of sweet
almonds in an eathen pan then
mix the soal & sand with it
Set the pan or jar in a Kettle
of Water & boil it Stirring the
ingredients until they are well
mix'd then put in the Brandy
& keep it close cover'd

Twelves drops of Oil of peppermint
mix'd with 2 teaspoonfuls of
strong Brandy to which a pint
of water is to be added
