A Minority of the city council met at the Meetinghouse and adjourned
till Saturday Sept. 29th 7 o clock P.M.

The city council met at the Meetinghouse
pursuant to adjournment. Prayer by C.W.Moore.
[Upon] the report of the committee who were appointed to examine
the routes of ditches under consideration east of Spring City, The
council resolves to place gates one foot wide at the outlet, from
the main ditch which water which water city lots, and one foot
and a half wide (or at the discretion of the superintending
committee) at the outlets of ditches which run through the Town
Cite to water the field; said gates to be [stazed] or secured with
locks by the Headwater. [Navter] to prevent alteration; said expense
to be [peiris] out of the city treasury.
A bill of five hundred feet of lumber was to be ordered the
gates made the ensueing winter and placed in the following
Spring before the heavy flush of water.
Calvin W. Moore and Lauritz Larsen were appointed to superintend the same.
The Mayor was authorized to inform the petitioner Orson Hyde and
twenty four others that the council was not in favor of granting
their petition. Closing prayer by H.C. Ungerman. Adjourned Sine. Die. {100}

On Petition of William Hudson a license was granted to [hire]
for ($5) five dollars to open and superintend social parties
at the Spring City Union Hall (socalled) during three months
from and after this date till the 29th day of Feb. 1878.
