Mr. I.G. Richards, 135 So 2nd East., Salt Lake City, Utah.
My dear Mr. Richards:-
I trust you will pardon my delay in acknowledging the receipt of your cordial letter of November 25th, coveying an expression of your approval of my action in the Hillstrom case and offering your services in connection with the suppression of the lawless element in this community.
I wish you to know that I thorougly appreciate your loyal and patriotic sentiments and your generous offer. I am satisfied that the vigorous, outspoken expressions of men like yourself who believe in the enforcement of law and order, against those who had gathered here to commit acts of violence had a remarkable tendency in ridding the community of the lawless element.
I have taken the liberty of showing your letter to the members of the Pardon Board who join me in this expression of thanks.
Cordially yours,
Governor.

Everybody in the United States seems to be so proud of you to-day, & so thankful that we have a brainy governor who has the courage of his convictions, that I thought perhaps you would like to know that the Canadians are proud.
