Hon. William Spry
Governor of Utah
Salt Lake City
Sir:
It is my understanding that the working men and women have full reason
to believe that your protection can be counted on in a case of miscarriage
of legal proceedings. The sentence pronounced by the court on Joseph Hill
strom ,based as it was on evidence ,flagrantly insufficient,we refer to your
inpartial consideration,Representing as you do directly the interests and
lives of your citisens we are confident that you will not permit this man
to be shot on the findings of the court but will give his opportunity for
a fair trial which will convince every one of his innocence I believe as
are all workers who are familiar with the circumstance and who know him.

Respectfully yours
Helen [Mait]
