20 W. Missouri Av., Kansas City, Mo., July 27th, 1915.

Hon. William Spry,
Governor of Utah,
Salt Lake City, Utah.

Honored Sir:

As a citizen of the state of Missouri, I have paid close
attention to the trial of Joseph Hillstrom on the charge of murder
at Salt Lake City, where this man was sentenced to be shot. It is
my conviction, resultant from an impartial survey of the trial,
that it was not fair, and that he was not proven guilty of the
crime for which he is to be executed.

I feel that the life of a man is worth too much to be
lost on account of carelessness or prejudice, and I wish to call
upon you, as a representative of the people, to see that Joseph
Hillstrom is given an opportunity to prove his innocence.

I am, respectfully,
Your humble servant,
F. Moran.
