Sir I did not intend to
petition you for the life of Joseph
Hillstrom but after reading his trile
I was convinced that if he was
exicuted without I sending a protest
that I would feel guilty of his
blood. So therefore however late,
I have filled my protest.

Think well Mr. Governor he is
exictured otherwise his blood
might be upon your head.
