Your Excellency,
Governor Spry,
Dear Sir: -

We are writing
you in behalf of Joseph Hilstrom
lying in jail in your city and
to be shot on Nov. 19, for a crime
that we are positive in our [illegible]
that he is innocent of. Now,
in our childhood are were
[illegible] that [illegible], our country
was a great, free land of liberty,
brotherly love [ampersand] justice, and we
as born citizens of this land
insist strenuously that Joseph
Hilstrom be given a new trial,
as his judicial murder will
be a blot forever on the fair
