Mr. J. C. Knowles.
Logan, Utah.

My dear Mr. Knowles:

I thank you very sincerely for your letter of
Nov. 22nd, which I have shown to the members of the
Board of Pardons. I also wish to express my appreciation
of your offer of assistance in seeing that the
laws are enforced. At this time, the greatest assistance
which those who are charged with the enforcement
of law can receive, is the outspoken determination of
all law-abiding citizens in this state to maintain law
and order in spite of threat and intimidation. Thank
God, in Utah there is a widespread sentiment that the
lawless element must seek other quarters, and I know
that your influence for the upholding of our laws will
be potent in maintaining for them the respect of all
who live or come under them.

With best wishes, I beg to remain
Cordially yours,

Governor
