Mr. W. R. Fox
634 Front Avenue, N.W.,
Grand Rapids, Michigan.

My dear Mr. Fox:

I appreciate very much, your communica-
tion of Nov. 24th commending my action in the Hillstrom
case. It is a source of satisfaction to learn
that there are loyal citizens, like yourself, who are
keeping in thouch with the inroads rapidly being made
into our institutions of government by the lawless
element and who are upholding those who are charged
with the duty of maintaining the law. After with-
standing a bombardment of twenty thousand letters,
most of which are threatening in character and none
of which were based on reason or justice, it is a
real pleasure to read a letter such as you send.

Again thanking you and with kind person-
al regards, I am

Cordially yours,

Governor.
