My dear Sir:-
I trust you will accept this tardy acknow-
ledgement of your communication of November 20th, in which
you empress your approval of my action in the Hillstrom
case and commend me for my statement that I intend to
clear the state of undesirable characters.
It is a source of great gratification to me
to find that in endeavoring to do my plain and simple
duty, I am upheld by the law-abiding people of the United
States.
