been informed on good authority that
Joe Hill, labor agitator, and poet, is
held under a death sentence in your state.

We believe that this man is in-
nocent of the crime charged against him,
that he was not given a fair trial by
a jury of his peers, and that he was
convicted on purely circumstantial evidence.
