Bellefouche S.D. Aug 26. 1918

My dear Mrs. Pyle:

My mother is coming on Friday of this week and I am planning to take her to Cal. for the winter. She is eighty years old now and not always well, and it will be impossible for me to do any public work while I am caring for her.

you try Mrs. H.O. Alexander of Bellefourche or Mrs. C.H. Blackwell of Fruitdale.

We were out for a drive yesterday & I thot my husband was was backing the car into Spearfish River and jumped out & the car ran over me so I am not feeling first rate to-day but I am thankful to be alive.

I trust you and yours are well

Sincerely Mrs. Pettigrew
