Mr. W. E. Daniels,
Madison, So. Dak.
My dear Dr. Daniels:--
I am in receipt of your statement in
regard to your position on Amendment E and am writing to
thank you for the help which this will give us.
While it does not seem possible that
the Amendment, as it now stands, could lose, still those who
believe in it must work for it, as there is much prejudice
to be removed. There are those who are prejudiced against
it because of woman suffrage and those who are prejudiced
because of what they consider an injustice to the foreigner.
It seems to me that since the woman suffragists have been
given a double responsibility, that there is so much more
work to be done, because we must see to it that this Amend-
ment does not fail.
Again I thank you for your co-operation
and to assure you that we will make the best possible use of
your statement.
Very sincerely yours,
