need our full strength in the
West and North to get our three
quarters of the states; that if we
do nothing in this campaign
it will be voted down here, and
it will certainly seriously effect
the attitude of our next legislature
towards ratification; she felt very
favorable to going to work along
our line (suggested); liked all
the plans I laid before her, &c.
I then asked her if I might not
meet the club and we could
put it before them, not that they
rescued any action taken, but
that they go to work on this campaign,
because these circumstanes
are unusual, &c., She was very
willing indeed. They work with her
