Miss Alice Loraine Daley,
Madison, South Dakota.

My dear Miss Daley:--

I wonder if you have your letter,
yet, from Mrs. Pyle, telling you that your petitions
are on the way? For promptness and efficiency, I am
quite sure you can not beat this. Now, we expect you
to get them back to us in just as good time as we got
them to you. How about it? Seriously, I do hope

carefully over you situation down there, make a list
of the people who ought to give $1,000, more or less,
and be ready for us. If Mrs. Rewman can not come to
you within the next two weeks, perhaps I can come down
myself for a week end and you and I can work on Saturday
and Sunday. You being a perfectly Catholic, I fancy,
will not mind working on Sunday and more than I, who am
an equally good Unitarian. Let me know how best we
