On Tuesday the 18th we went by the
railroad from [[Antwerp]] to [[Ostend]], passing
by [[Ghent]], & [[Bruges]], the latter is a nice
looking old town, there are, it is said,
a good many English resident there
of a quieter description than those
who go to enjoy the gaieties of [[Brussels]]_

Of [[Ostend]] Isaw nothing but the inside
of a comfortless Inn, which we left
about ten o'clock atnight to go on
board the steam boat, ^which next day
brought us safely to our journeys
end, the passage from [[Ostend]] to [[Lon=
don]] being only about fifteen hours —
