Thursday. April 29th Very warm and pleasant spent most of the morning in copying for Mr Murrow.

He seemed grateful, rather more so that I liked to have him feel.

Aunt Graves spent the day with us. She was as talkative and sociable as ever. She wants Carrie to spend the next winter at the South with Aunt Caroline and I to stay with her in Brooklyn

It would doubtless be very pleasant, but what would Father and Mother do without any daughters, and our young brothers would feel the want of at least one sister, so it would not do for all to leave at once. -- Albert intends going to housekeeping in Sept and says I must come and take up my abode with them. Holding forth the inducement of plenty of books two pianos etc. Of course I declined and yet I cannot avoid a sigh when I think how delightful it would be were the circumstances such that I could feel at liberty to accept the inviation.

Mr Murphy spent the evening with us. mr Cone also called Mary Eamme spent the day in Brooklyn and did not return till late in the evening when she and Albert came home looking weary enough. Sarah Wilde spent the evening with us. Father and she had a long serious talk together. Mr Samuel called for her between nine + ten o'clock staid a short time I was very pleasant and politely scented my kerchief with one of his everlasting perfumes.

[sideways in the margin]Ellen Dickinson called in the P.M. [illegible to Ellen Seager
