Went to see the Academy for riding -
It is a very excellent one, & on a good
good Establishment - There are at
present not less than 10 English here
viz - [[Lord Berrymore]] & [[Lord Berkeley]]
Cap S'r [[Sir Thomas Gascoigne]] [[Mr. Dillon]] - [[Mr. Crawford]]. [[Mr. Greir]]
Cap't. [[Captain Dobron]]. [[Mr. Needham]]. [[Mr. Fermior]]
& [[Mr. Fuser]] - they pay for Board &c in all
£80 Sterl - for half a year, w/ch [which] is the shortest Term
of staying

Tuesday Sep'r [September] ye [the] 4: Yesterday & to
day we were visited by all the above
Gentlemen, as also [[Mr. Valet]] who
came to [[Turin]] a few days ago - This
Afternoon [[Lord Abbingdon]] arrived
from [[Geneva]] -

To day we visited the University
w'ch [which] is a small but neat building, con-
taining various Rooms fitted up or the
different Classes to lecture - It has
no apartments for the accomodation
of Students as at [[Oxford]] or [[Cambridge]].
