[[Parma]]

By the side of this is a small Theatre
on the Stage of w/ch [which] whilst I was there, the
[[Marquis of Lessa]] _ a reduc'd [reduced] young Nobleman
of Parma was employed in teaching the
two Daughters of a Burgeois or Cit, to dance
as they do on the Stage _ fine employment
for a young Noblemen of 22 or 23 Years of Age _

From this we went to the [[Palazzo
del Giardino]]
where are some very fine
paintings in Fresco by various hands, &
especially by [[Parmegianino]] & [[Marani]] _

The last Room but one is the most beautifull
of all _ The Cieling is the last & unfinished
Performance of [[Augustin Carrach]]; but the
most elegant that can well be concieved;
particularly y/e [the] 3 Cupids _ one bendg. [bending] a bow, anothr [another]
holding a quiver, & y/e [the] 3rd. [third] sharpening his Arrow _
The Inscription shows that this Cieling of [[Carrach]]
was thought too exquisite tho [though] unfinish'd [unfinished] to be
retouch'd [retouched] by any hand whatever _ I never saw
any thing of Carrach this [[Carrach]] w/ch [which] pleased me more
