Besides small arms they have ab't [about] 2000
Brass Cannon in the Arsenal with Bombs
& Balls in proportion -

The Men are constantly at work on
making & repairing of the gallies, & are allowed
to drink as much wine mixed with 3/4 of Wat'r [water]
as they please; a kind of Fountain being
provided for that Purpose. This is at the
Expence of the Doge. There is are provided
abt. [about] 500 great vei vessels or Butts ofWine
[per?] Month, each containing some Hogsheads -
It is mixed with water in a Room prepared
for the Purpose & conducted to another by
Pipes - to w'ch [which] the Men come 2 or 3 times a
day & drink as much as they please. &
carry with them to the place of work
in Bottles, Pales & Buckets as much
more as they have occasion for, but
are not allowed to carry any out of
the arsenal -

There are 24 Men of War of 84 Guns
on the Stocks & not quite finish'd [finished], but allways
kept in a sort of readiness to be compleated
in Case of any Emergency requiring them -
they are placed 12 in a row in opposite Sides of the
Dock, & so arrang'd [arranged] that you may see through
