We then went to view ye [the] Curiosi
ties of the Palace belonging to the Count
de Caprara - w'ch [which] is a grand Palace,
of fine Architecture, & finely ornamented
with good paintings, Tapistery - & a
magnificient Gallery ornamented with
warlike Spoils taken from ye [the] Turks in ye [the]
time of the Emperor Leopold by the
Father of the present Count de Caprana, who
was a field Marshall in his Service
For an Acct. [Account] of this Palace, see
the printed Book, on the Subject -
PM went to See the [[Church of
Mendicanti]] di dentro where are some good
paintings by different Masters, but particularly
2 fine large ones by [[Guido]]. The Subject of
one is the Medonna weeping over a dead
Sav'r [Savior] with sev'l [several] Saints below - the other
is Job in a State of Affluence after his Misery
in The latter is in [[Guido]]'s person [?] more delicate
manner such as pleases Delectante most,
the former is in his large Manner, but strong & bold
w'ch [which] gives most pleasure to Painters
