one long street back of
these, ending in Chinatown,
and the European dwellings
are scattered back of these
and on the slopes of the
Peak which rises abruptly
behind the city. The city is
nestled at the foot of and
on the sides of the steep
hills, giving a most pic-
turesque effect. A tram
goes to the top of the Peak
almost perpendicularly. On
the Peak are hotels and
dwellings and a beautiful
view of the harbor and
city at the base. It is cool
there in summer & a fa-
vorite place for residences.
