Messis Lawler, Everett and Hinkin, I really think that, I have made a mistake in sending Booth to England after he played his farewell engagement at the Walnut St, in the season you have now in hand. the Farewell engagement was so announced - but, he did not go till September of the fall of 1836 - when he acted at the Walnut St an engagement, after Forrest played his farewell engagement at the Chestnut St Theatre of 4 nights, previous to his going to London to play. Booth acted also 4 nights at the beginning in the arly part of September 1836 ending about the 14 of that month

I have been among the halt for sometime - that, is my swollen feet has kept me from locomotion during the long hot months we have had since July - [?], I should have at least given [?] of you a Call - as to my getting as far as Mr Everetts house - I could not [?] any means - without riding - I didn't get to see my wounded son, who lives up that way. I learn that Mr Everett has again got an his [?] - altho' his ankle must be disabled - I hope he is well up again.
I have got the sketches of the Greines' - nearly completed - if you don't want the sketches - I'll

send them to New York - when I get - the MS. finished which will be in a short time. I send you this word - as a matter of duty - offering it first to your paper - If you do not want it why there is no harm done in the inquiry and in the declinations by our proprietors.
