12 "The width of bridge waterway
is always to be 24 inches greater
than that of the Nulla or rec-
tangular section of the canal
at the point where the bridge
is built : i.e. on the main line
of Rajbuha when the width
of Nulla is 4 feet, the width
of bridge waterway will be
six feet. The following of the
waterway must be carefully
laid on the time level of the
bed. It is better to lay this floor-
ing too low, than too high :
the former leads to no great
difficulty, but the latter is a
positive evil
